This person will be a fixture designer and must have experience, considerable knowledge and hands on skills at conceptualizing, drafting, designing and coordinating build of fixtures, small tools, or semi-automation components. This individual will work with others to interpret their needs, create designs and develop CAD solid models and drawings in a manner consistent with industry standards, common practice and PMP standards. This person needs to be comfortable with intermediate to advanced solid modeling techniques using Solidworks. They will apply knowledge and understanding of fabrication techniques, engineering materials and principles to their own work and others work. This person will manage deliverables and timelines of projects working with engineering technicians and outside services to design, install, repair, program, retrofit, interface, and upgrade fixtures and electro-mechanical machinery. They will work with suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve design and timeline deliverables. This individual will follow detailed instructions, learn from mistakes, and be open to feedback and constructive criticism. This person must be able to interpret, translate, and integrate specifications, industry standards, manufacturer specifications and offer suggestions and alternatives to design and development.
Education and/or Experience
Associate or Bachelor Technical Degree is strongly preferred. Ten or more years of experience in the tooling and machine design arenas with a focus on medical device manufacturing is required. Solidworks modeling experience strongly preferred.
