This manager will direct and coordinate activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance and cleaning of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of facilities, or other establishment. This person will review job orders to determine work priorities and use computer programs to manage, schedule, and record maintenance activities. This person will schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. This person must be able to perform activities of workers supervised. The manager will monitor and maintain all facilities including cleanrooms to insure full compliance with all regulatory agencies, customer requirements, ISO standards, and owners’ expectations. This person will maintain and administer pest control plans for all facilities, coordinate activities of workers/vendors fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products. This manager will direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, ventilation, air conditioning, electric power, water, gas, or air required for operations. This person will develop and manage preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff and will review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities. This person will inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards and they will direct workers/contractors engaged in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings and ground maintenance activities. This manager will requisition tools, equipment, and supplies and inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. This manager will interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations, analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems, initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. This person will maintain time and production records, confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments, review new product plans and discuss equipment needs and modifications with design engineers. This manager will plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. This manager will prepare department budget and monitor expenditure of funds in budget. This manager will make studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies. This person will maintain safety files and records and conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as with new employee orientation, on-the-job training, use of computers and software, health and safety practices, refresher training, upgrading, retraining displaced workers, and leadership development.
Education and/or Experience
Five years of experience working in related fields in a manufacturing facility environment. Experience with boiler, chiller, cooling tower, air compressor systems. Three years experience as supervisor. Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
