Manufacturing Supervisor Level II


This is a first shift position that supervises and coordinates activities of manufacturing employees.
 
This person will actively and regularly use Performance Management through coaching techniques in supervising employees.  This person will act as trainer and mentor to other supervisors and employees in the use of performance management, statistical process control, statistical analysis, computerized systems such as training, documentation, manufacturing and data recording.  They will also actively monitor performance metrics of employees and processes, recognize employee improvement and assist employees to improve performance.  They will spend time on the shop floor talking to employees and listen empathetically to their concerns, and provide prompt and courteous responses.  They will ensure effective employee relations and provide employee coaching and development. This person will actively recognize desired and undesired employee behaviors and resolve employee issues through problem resolution.  They will provide training and counseling for employees as necessary.  This person will conduct routine discussions with employees to provide information and to get feedback.  They will develop strategies to improve employee morale, performance, communications and teamwork.  This person will inspect products manufactured by employees to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines.  They will also assist operators in troubleshooting production related issues.  This person will assist operations manager by improving production scheduling system, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, efficiency, utilization and performance management.  They will also perform job cost analysis on manufacturing shop orders for labor and material variances.  They will also maintain understanding of an MRP system such as Visual Manufacturing along with all the planning policies linked to each product to ensure on-time delivery to the customer.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Requires a B.S. degree or equivalent of seven years experience in a manufacturing environment in a supervisory position.  In those prior supervisory experiences, demonstrated high performance by exceeding expectations, maintaining 75% of areas assigned as 5S, consistently low safety or GMP deficiencies, high employee morale and training completion and effectiveness.  Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and office software, company manufacturing, training, and documentation systems.  Experience on an organized safety committee and demonstrated experience scheduling and planning work flows and production for most cost effective and timely operations.  Leadership and participation in at least 15 successful TQ teams, demonstrated commitment to company policies, administration and affirmative action responsibilities.
